PEMF Therapy
PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field. PEMF is an innovative form of magnetic therapy that works by pulsing energy into the body. PEMF increases nitric oxide release which increases vasodilation resulting in improved circulation which is helpful in healing injured tissues.
Over the past 40 years, medical researchers have studied the effects of PEMF. As a result of such research, in 1979 the FDA approved PEMF for use in stimulating bone growth; in 1987 for adjunct therapy to treat postoperative pain and edema; and in 2011 for treatment of depression in patients unresponsive to medication. PEMF is even used by NASA for reversing the bone loss and muscle degeneration experienced by astronauts on long space missions.
How it Works:
Over time your cells deteriorate or get injured, and when that happens, they lose their electro-magnetic charges – and with that, the ability to exchange ions. Symptoms like inflammation, fatigue, and pain are caused by damaged cells. PEMF technology targets the affected area and restores cells’ healthy electromagnetic charges.
Other Benefits:
- Muscle fatigue & discomfort after exercise
- Knee pain & Osteoarthritis (OA) – helps keep cartilage from breaking down.
- Neck & low back pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Rotator Cuff injuries
